LinkedIn Easy Apply?

I applied to a LinkedIn Easy Apply position yesterday. I really don't like doing these as I feel like my application goes off into a black hole and I never hear anything again (and based on previous Easy Apply jobs, this is what happens). However, the company does not have a career page on their website so I went through with the Easy Apply process.

I noticed there was a job poster contact (which is not always the case) and sent him an InMail message letting him know that I applied for the position as well as a connection request.

I received an email today that my application was looked at but...

Is there anything I can do from here? Is this a waste of time? Should I assume this is a dead end?
