Finally got an employment offer but I'm not sure how much they're offering in compensation.

I have been offered a contract position for 6 months. The exact language in the contract with respect to my compensation is as follows:

> Base Salary: Your base salary for this 6 months employment period will be $50,000 CAD, less required statutory deductions and other deductions.

So am I making a total of 50k (less deductions) over a 6 month period or is it saying that I would be paid over a 6 month period as if my annual salary is $50k.
