Employment contract asks me to forfeit my rights. Will what mine become there's even after quitting in the future? Need a job during covid. Pleas help.

Already posted this under legal advice but thought it best to post here for aid aswell.

I'm not too good with contracts but a few years ago I began working a new place where I was given this contract to sign waiving my rights. I dont wish to disclose the company at all but I'm seeking some guidance as to what is being taken from I. The contract does state that any ideas, work etc made or conceived during your time at the company will belong to the company.

They you are hereby signing all propriety property to the company and granting them "irrevocable power of attorney to the company to have the company execute on the participants behalf all applications, specifications, oaths...which the company deems necessary ....to apply for...such rights...to assign..to company and its successors...sole and exclusive rights,title,...in any proprietary property"

This was a position I was offered a few years back and am now wondering if such contracts are common or if the company is attempting to take advantage of the rights of job seekers by slyly hiring them only to "own" any thought of theirs for the rest of their lives. I'm into business and am looking to create and grow in the next coming years. I don't want to screw over my plans and forcibly have everything stolen just because covid hit i as looking for a job. I may be wrong since I don't understand much of it. Any help breaking down this contract, one of 5, would be great.
