Diversity question

I want to know how I should ask companies about diversity in the work place. How should I do this professionally but also not sounding 'cheesy' or 'corny'?

Specifically I am in the works of talking to a recruiter and I did a little research on the company, turns it the company is 95% white. I am just a little worried since I am a POC.
