I got an offer today for a job that seems amazing and would be significantly higher level than my current position. I'm really excited! The salary in the job listing was $65-75k. I was hoping for at least $70k, they offered $65k. When I asked for $70k, they said they could do $67.5k. I think that's fair. My only concern is that the position would require me to relocate from DC to LA. It seems like cost of living in these cities is comparable, based on what I've seen, but how can I be sure?? I currently make $55k in DC and it's livable, so I assume $67.5k in LA would be as well. Is that reasonable to think? Would it be bad form to ask about relocation assistance, considering the employer is a small nonprofit and the position isn't executive level?? Thank you!
