I work in a warehouse environment, there's only six of us and the work is fast paced. I always do the best I can and anyone who has seen me work knows I give 100% effort and stay on task.
About a month after I started, my supervisor started asking "Are you going to stay on break all day?" and other things of that nature and I really did some investigating for the next two weeks and found out who was saying I was slacking off, he tries to manipulate people and others started getting suspicious of him and I waited without saying anything for my supervisor to find out, and he did. In the beginning I only had one person backing me who seen how I work, but even now nobody is saying anything in my defense after the boss questioned me one day.
The boss is the owner and he called me into his office and told me he had heard I was taking too long on break/taking extra breaks and I simply told him I do no such thing, then two days after (three days ago) he questioned seeing me around the corner of the building when I was cleaning up. I haven't said anything to the owner about this person (he didn't tell me who told him) or to the worker talking about me, I've been gathering all the dirt I can so I'll have proof that he's lying and trying to manipulate people along with taking extra breaks and going to the store while still clocked in.
I want to play it cool until I have undeniable proof that he's a horrible worker, but I'm wondering if I'm making a mistake.
Being lied about seriously pisses me off because I strive to be a great employee, I haven't confronted the person because I don't want him to know I'm onto him and more importantly because he's a known asshole and he does MMA and I know I'll lose my cool and it will turn into a fight. That's the same reason I haven't told the boss, if I tell him without concrete evidence I expect to be called into his office with the other employee and I know I'll get frustrated when he tries to lie his way out/call me a liar.
