2020 graduate still unemployed: *Gasps*. I'm so sick of making applications after application, only to hear nothing back and being refused feedback.
I graduated in summer 2020 and was employed within my university for a few months, with the understanding that it was temporary. So I've been job hunting for months now.
I was employed throughout university, in addition to volunteering and joining various university schemes. I knew Id need experience to get a job. Little did I know I'd be rejected for the roles I did as a student within the same organisation, despite being told how brilliant I am.
I just for the life of me cannot fathom why feedback is denied. I've worked HR and filtered through hundreds of applications. It's not difficult to make a template of common mistakes and send the appropriate one. I.e lack of experience you have, not a tailored application you send.
I've had interviews with zero feedback given. Just silence even after asking for it.
Why do you tell me I'm brilliant and then not hire me? Just tell me the honest truth if I'm rubbish so I can improve or say nothing at all if you can't.
I was recently told I lack experience by a random LinkedIn person (who I refused to believe). I'm in the UK and university students don't always get work experience in. And then told by another that I have loads and it's impressive. The complete subjectivity of applications is killing us all.
