So, I resisted using my dad’s connections for a really long time during my job hunt. I didn’t want to be that person who got the job just because their dad knows the right people, but I’m kinda desperate at this point.
My dad recommended me for a PM position where he currently works. We would be in completely different departments (I would be in the more clinical/research side and he is in IT). The company itself is HUGE, so we probably won’t even cross paths too often.
I fit all of the job qualifications and it is an entry level position. This is one of those situations where I have the right experience, but due to the volume of applicants, it helps tremendously to know someone at the company.
I have an interview tomorrow. If it comes up, how do I address that my dad recommended me to the recruiter in a way that doesn’t sound like complete garbage?
Thanks!
