I have a master’s degree and have been searching for a job for over a year now

I naively thought that having a master’s degree would open up so many opportunities for me. Nope. In my experience, all companies are looking for is very specific skills and experiences. I thought a master’s degree would be evidence enough of my competency but no.

If only I was given one chance, I could prove how hard working and good at learning I actually am, but just getting my foot in the door has been impossible. I’m becoming especially desperate since I need a job to be able to move out of my parent’s house (I’m 23) and begin my life. Sorry for venting, I just feel lost.
