Questions I have:
- Lots of people have been saying they usually see the Education section near the bottom. This template places it at the top bc I chose one for recent grads. Does it really matter where the Education section is?
- How can I strengthen some of my bulletpoints, especially the camp counselor one?
- The length of the bulletpoints varies a lot. Should I shorten or spruce some of them up?
- I included my original contract date with Disney bc I wanted to emphasize that the pandemic is the reason for the gap in employment before my counselor job. But it seems to throw off some of the balance. Thoughts?
A word on my "all over the place" work experience: I have plenty of "traditional" work experience, enough to fill an entire other resume, but I left it off this resume bc I wanted it to focus on the experiences relevant to the jobs I'm applying for, which are outdoor education apprenticeships and nature-based Waldorf/Montessori preschool assistance. (Look, we all gotta start somewhere) All of the experiences listed are hands-on, physical, active, creative, playful, and focus on face-to-face interaction, interpersonal relationships, and the outdoors because those are prerequisites to the jobs I want take and build my career upon. I curated my work experiences specifically so I wouldn't have to sit behind a desk all day (it's just not for me). I got my degree in theater and am passionate about circus, and those interests have capital where I live (Brattleboro, VT). Circus Smirkus is a huge name here and Brattleboro is a hub for circus arts. My farming experience also makes sense for outdoor education positions -- I understand basic permaculture, know how to grow food and identify plants, and have hands-on experience in building pollinator-friendly gardens, which is also a value among the granola-y, naturalist types that live in my area. I know my audience and I'm not as directionless my resume looks at first glance :)
