Reapplying to a position

Hey everyone,

So after about a year of pursuing I finally got an interview with my dream company. Honestly, I have a lot of hardships going on right now (I know we all do), so this job opportunity was feeling like a holy redeemer for how life has been. Well the interview came and as much as I prepared, I completely choked in the phone interview and probably had the interviewer hanging up thinking I had an anxiety attack. Low and behold a week later, the automated email came that I was not selected and I am devastated.

After the whole week of reflecting, I want nothing more than a do-over with my knowledge of how the interview runs now. I know how capable I am of performing worlds better. I believe I am qualified for the job. Should i reapply right away? My reference who might have been instrumental in getting the interview said I should wait a few months, but the thing is the job begins in February and I need licensing before i start, also I feel great pressure financially with my commission job now. If i go against his advice, I don’t feel as I deserve his reference, but I just want to know if there are any downsides of reapplying right away. It’s a large company so I doubt my resume would land on the same recruiter desk twice.
