Raise after getting my C.E.T?

So I work for an environmental consulting company in Canada. I just got a 6% raise this Christmas and now earn 22.50 an hour. In May I will be able to get my CET designation (certified environmental technologist) and I am wondering if anyone has similar experience and want to know if I am entitled to a raise? Or if that is up to the company. My current title is Environmental technician.
