I (21F) got an email from indeed a few weeks ago for an entry level sales position. I had the feeling that it seemed too good to be true, but after interviewing and asking what I thought were thorough questions, I accepted the position. Now I know they flat out lied to me about a lot of it. They told me it would be a 40 hour week, it's actually 51.25 hours a week, plus the time it takes for transportation. I'm gone maybe 12 hours a day. The work isn't hard, but the pay is not worth it. They also lied to me about promotions available to me, and the company atmosphere is hyper positive and creepy.
I also did some research on the company (I tried to before, but I found out the name that they posted on indeed is different than the one they use otherwise) and there's actually a lot of reviews that former employees wrote accusing them of being an MLM and scamming their employees.
Needless to say I'm embarrassed. Lesson learned, but now I'm not sure what to do from here. I know I want to get out, but I'm not sure how. I have a reliable backup job that I worked at for months beforehand, and I could probably start picking up more hours next week if I wanted to. Would putting in my two weeks be a good idea, or should I just ghost them? I'm not a confrontational person in all honesty and I know they're experts at gaslighting so I'm pretty nervous and any advice would be extremely helpful.
(Ps. I plan on contacting indeed about their listing and my experience with them.)
