So I am a new grad nurse. 2.5 months experience working in a specialized ICU. Had to leave for family reasons but have good references. Currently trying to be hired for a similar specialized unit at another hospital. I reached out to the dept manager, described my experience, and they said I sounded great and referred me to a nurse recruiter.
Despite having above the needed experience, this recruiter is sabotaging me and wont allow me an interview. She said "we are not looking for qualified applicants". I call the manager back saying things with the recruiter have been weird. Well he reaches out to her and she gets back to me a week later. She says she spoke with the manager and they both believe I lack the clinical skills for the job. When I ask exactly what that means, she says that I'm "shopping around for jobs" and have no right to do that.
What should I do? I tried calling the other recruiter who works with her but she defended her and said she wont question the process. Should I call the manager back? I dont believe she ever talked to him about me. If anything, inreally think she is just lying to prevent me from getting the job. I really dont know what to do because this is my dream job :(
