I have been working for my company for 3 years and have grown with them from a start up to now owned by a massive corporation that owns literally everything. We are transitioning under their ownership starting January and my job has gotten significantly harder and more chaotic. The company lost over half its employees during the pandemic and I now have taken over 3 people’s positions, all which made great money doing what they did. I was moved up to a managers position managing operations for around 15 companies across the US and Canada. I also manage our customer service representatives, and handle billing/invoicing for all those companies. Not to mention, training partners on our software, bug testing and reporting for our software, and thousands of other tedious little tasks. The software is poorly developed and released before fully built, and the company grew faster than they could keep up. So my day to day is a constant struggle of refunding tens of thousands of dollars, calming down angry customers, and working out of 50 spreadsheets to manage the functions our software lacks. Doing all of this.... on $16/hr. I have requested a raise 4+ times now and was strung along for the past 2 years. First it was the pandemic, then it was the new company is refusing changes, but the company is profiting very well and lost the majority of its staff. The money is there. I have considered leaving, but I am able to work from home and I do not have my degree yet. So finding a similar job for more pay is not likely. I’m at a loss and it is affecting my mental health significantly. Should I hold out a bit longer, or look elsewhere? Or is there some sort of lever I can use to force my company to step up?
