Hi guys. So, I got an offer for a new position. It's almost too good to be true- highly paid for the work the position entails, highly rated company. It makes me feel a little worried and suspicious. Like, how good can the company really be if I got the job with relatively little effort?
I really didn't do much interviewing for the position at all, maximum 2 or 3 phone calls with no interviews. I was told by my (external) recruiter for the job that it would be a Project Manager position, but when I got to the actual interview, the lady told me the job would entail much less than that, and I'm actually over-qualified for it. This was a relief to me as I don't like having too much job responsibility and stress.
I did have to wait 3 months for this final offer to come through (because of bureaucracy and covid delays, I'm guessing), but besides that, didn't do anything to obtain the job. No video interviews or aptitude tests. I suppose I have a strong resume, but I thought it would be much harder to get this job. I really feel I don't deserve this high of a salary, either.
Another concern I have, is my most stressful job yet, that I had in the past, offered the same salary as this new position. What if this new job ends up being as stressful as the old one? What if the company is just as toxic? Sure, this new company has better reviews on Glassdoor, but I don't even know if I can believe in that anymore. I don't have as bad of a "gut feeling" about this company, but I don't know. What should I do? Thanks so much for any insight...
