I have been keeping track, and I've sent out about 200 applications since March 2020. I've been working on contract as Project manager for this baking company for more than 3 years, and for whatever reason have not been given a full time PM role.
I know for a fact they are going to be kind of screwed when I leave. But save the fact, that every 6 months its always the same thing: I get a 6 month extension. This time past March I dont see much happening over the trees.
My company is pretty large on the map. We just got bought by Mondelez so that shows you how huge we are.
Anyways, since applying to jobs since the pandemic started hasn't been easy. Thankfully, supply chain industry is always booming and in demand so I've had some decent traction and my response rate on my applications were always around 1 in 20. Really good.
Today I finally got a real offer thats going to be paying me 25k more what I was making and touching the 6 figure mark.. as a Senior supply chain manager role with a company that niche in Fire suppression equipment and technology!

Just one positive message for those that are still trying to get jobs; its definitely possible fellas! KEEP AT IT!!
Ps: in case you're wondering, I'm a Toronto Canada resident and I have been working in supply chain operations/management for 15 years and graduated as an Industrial engineer and now have about 8 years of management experience, 4 of which was managing capital projects in excess of 10m$
