I graduated in the spring and have only been working for a few weeks, and it’s definitely not as rewarding as I imagined. I’m not sure if I’m looking for advice or just venting, but long story short is I couldn’t find anything for months, finally found something low paying and not related to my degree, but I took it because it was the only thing I had and it was better than doing nothing but job searching. I honestly don’t mind the job itself, but the more days I work, the more I grow tired of it. It’s only 8 hours a day but between the commute, waking up early to get ready, getting stuff ready for the next day when I get home, it all just feels like I have no life outside of work. I’m still on the lookout for new jobs more related to my degree, but based on my luck thus far and the pandemic not going anywhere, I doubt I’ll find anything new anytime soon. Anyone else find themselves in a job they aren’t passionate about or feel detached from? Does having a job you’re interested in make things better?
