Interview shoe attire question

I am wanting to apply for a better job but the issue is footwear. All I have are sneakers and money is tight currently so I really don't want to spend ~$100 or so for a pair of dress shoes I'll wear like once every few years. Why not try to used some 2nd hand ones or something? I'm a size 17 so finding shoes is impossible, forget about 2nd hand dress shoes. I'll be wearing dress shirt and pants. The job I am wanting to apply for is retail management so I'm not sure how much that will count against me.
