Ok, so I work for a large company (Don't mean to name names but they're number one in bras and lingerie) I have worked here for just about a year now. I am a pretty good employee, I moved up decently fast and know my way around products and customers very well. The only thing I've messed up with is with these two shifts. Other than that I have never been late.
I there are four managers, I will name them A B C and D
About two weeks ago I missed a shift,. Totally my fault I read the days on my schedule wrong. I was told no worries, it was super slow and I probably would've been called out anyways since they were slightly over staffed.
Just today, I missed a shift, but I don't think it was my fault.
For the week of November 1st I was scheduled an early morning shipment shift Mon-Fri. on Halloween I noticed that my Tuesday shift was taken off the schedule. I thought, no big deal, I still have a decent amount of hours. The next day (Nov 1st) I get a call from B letting me know I have the day off tomorrow. (Meaning today, Mon, Nov 2nd) I was like ok cool. She then said "I'll see you wednesday" which gave me the impression she also knew about my tuesday shift that was taken off.
Fast forward to today, Monday Nov 2nd. I get a call from C working today and she called asking if I was ok, since I didn't come in for my shift. I explained to her everything that happened with B over the phone, and told C before that I saw my schedule had changed for tuesday. She then informed me that B was telling me that I had tuesday off, not monday. C was confused, and I was confused. I then again explained and said that there must've been a mix up with words. She didn't seem upset at all and I apologized profusely.
It's still monday, and we get our schedules every week on monday. I went in the store to buy something, and A and D were there. They looked at me funny and didn't talk to me. I then went to my car to go home but I first looked at my schedule. I look at it and i was only given two days, ten hours. I haven't had this little hours since my new employee training week. I average 20-35 hours a week. I know that C had told A and D about me missing the day. A schedules all of our shifts and so I'm feeling like I was given limited hours because of the missed shift. It was a big shift too. I was scheduled 6 am to 11 am to do the floor set for christmas, which means the entire store was changed,. But the thing is they didn't call me until three pm. I'm not sure why they called me so late.
am I able to ask for more hours? what can I do to fix this mess? I'm really stressed. I have bills to pay and I need the hours
