How to quit nanny job

I just landed a dream position teaching theatre full time, but it means I have to quit my nanny job. I’m planning to give two weeks notice plus have someone lined up who can interview to take over for me if they like. Initially I was committed to them through May but I never actually signed a contract so I don’t think it’s enforceable. I have really enjoyed working for this family and want to leave on good terms. Any advice?
