So I just started training at a debt collection agency called Alltran. I won't say which state its in for fear of them doing anything if they find this post. On my second day they showed me some pretty standard stuff call these people try and get them to pay there debt. Here is the kicker, during it the person mentioned to me we could see how much was in there bank account even said "We can't mention this to them because its illegal. " They mention pretty heavily no phones which I can understand that because you take credit cards and type them in. We are not allowed pen and paper either. I honestly think the real reason its not allowed is because of that one illegal thing right there.
So I have a few questions as well.

Lets say I signed something saying I can't talk about this, tbh I really didn't read most of it because I finally got a job after months of dead ends,I know its no excuse and I should always read but I was jsut happy to finally have a job.
Back to the point if what there doing is illegal and I sign a contract saying i can't tell anyone about the illegal thing what happens to me? -
Next should I keep working there if there doing this? I honestly can't afford to quit or I will be homeless and have nowhere to live. but on the other hand can I face repercussions knowing these things yet still working there?

I can give the state to someone in the comments if it would help my situation,but I would need someway to make sure there not from Alltran to protect myself from several issues.
