Breaking into a new field?

I've been slaving away at retail for pretty much my entire working life, and I'm feeling very burned out by it. I'm not looking for anything spectacular; my living situation doesn't require that I have a lot of income, just something more than zero. However, I want a job that doesn't involve tiring myself out constantly by staying on my feet and walking around all day, and preferably one where the primary duty isn't customer interaction. As I'm pretty good with using a computer, I'm looking at something that involves typing, probably data entry. Unfortunately, I live in a small town and am very limited in how far I can travel, so I'd also need something entirely remote.

So far I've sent applications to companies I've found on Indeed, but since I haven't been looking for a job for quite some time, I'm honestly not sure of the best way to go about finding a job like this, especially when a lot of them want work experience. Any tips for finding a job like this, or just generally changing to a new field of work?
