Job for a few months?

Hi all! So, I’m currently an administrative assistant. My best friend got stationed in California two years ago, and I haven’t seen him since. He’s finally turning 21 & my friend group all bought plane tickets to visit him. Here’s the thing, my main job isn’t going to pay me enough to where I can save like I want to for this trip by February. So, I have been thinking of getting a job in the restaurant industry, except I had never done anything related to food besides a yogurt shop four years ago. Is it hard? Too much to handle? I just need it for a few months to have an extra $$$ for this trip. Will I be okay? Any suggestions where to start looking?
