So I currently work part time for a non profit organization that is literally 1 block from my house. The pay is minimal. But I accepted this position under the pretense that a full-time position will be opening soon (2 weeks) and I was to be the main candidate for this position.
Two months have gone by. I started applying for jobs online because this part time work isn’t paying the bills and I need full time benefits eventually for my family. Since there was no word about this position becoming available, I took the ini
I aced an interview this morning for a nearby hospital. Coincidentally, after this interview I received an email that my current organization wants me to formally interview tomorrow for the FT position I originally wanted. (But there is no guarantee that I will get this job)
10 minutes ago the recruiter for the hospital sent me a text saying they have “good news!” (I’m assuming I got the job) - the hospital aligns with my bachelors degree as well! So exciting!
I want to negotiate the best possible terms for either position. Their pay range is the exact same, but I want to negotiate higher. Whatever job will pay me the most I want to take. But the nonprofit is not guaranteed and it might be a week before I find out if I have even gotten the job...
How do I stall? Ideally, I want to be offered both jobs and then select the one that pays the best.
