So I was offered a graduate role at a well known bank, subject to references and background check. However in 2015 I lied and said that I did volunteer work for four months at a catering place. Yes, I fully regret this, and I’m not sure why I did it when I already have good and relevant work experience. I know the catering place takes your ID and needs an application for you to volunteer there. So technically the background check could call them up and ask for details on me. I’m extremely worried. Will my job offer be revoked because of this if they call up the place and they have no records of me?
