Is it illegal to advertise a job as a 3 month contract, not say anything only to find out after you clock out that the job was only for that one day?

Applied to a job with an agency that said 3 month contract, I double checked to make sure I didn't hallucinate that. On the phone I even said "I don't mind the distance cuz it's only for 3 months" and they said nothing. No one on site said anything about it being for that day only I only found out by asking them directly how long is the job.
