Okay, so I’ll give a brief explanation.
I was reached out to someone on LinkedIn, and let’s just give him a name of John. John asked me some basic questions like why I wanted to go into finance (I’m a junior finance major), and more questions that seemed pretty weird and vague. He then asked me if I was interested in marketing opportunities, I said yes, and he told me that he’d reach out to his older peers for opportunities.
We then had a brief call where he sort of did an interview, then he asked me if I was still interested in marketing and entrepreneurship opportunities. I told him that my focus was on internships, but I’d be open to finding more about what he had to offer.
John said perfect, then wanted to schedule a meeting with his boss(?), and he told me that it was expected to read a book before I talked to her.
John is really vague about what the opportunity is, but still insists that he wants to help me and that he would not want me to miss out.
Should I just tell him that I’m not interested anymore? I just find it really sketchy that I have to read a 300 page book before talking to someone, and I still couldn’t tell you on what the role even was.
