Aspie Social Worker wanting to change to IT

Hi all,

I’m an autistic social worker in Australia. I work for the government and I don’t disclose my Autism in my role. I find myself obsessively trying to help my clients (which they of course love because they get everything they need), but the job is taxing and I can’t help but carry the burden of everyone around me, including my siblings and parents, who all also have autism and rely on me to guide and advocate for them.

I used to work at banks during my studies and I am very good data/numbers.

I have a bachelor of psychology and a master of social work but I think I want to find a role that still involves problem solving - just not problem solving for people lives.

What should I study in Aus to do this? What’s the most cost effective way to study to move to a carer in IT. And what specifically in IT is great for autistic thinking (seeing multiple layers and perspectives for problem solving).
