Written offer from Amazon/AWS coming soon - have some questions

TL;DR - I'm a bit confused about how Amazon's comp structure works and have some questions.

I just received a verbal offer to join AWS Legal as a Contracts Manager. Having been 99% unemployed since mid-March this was a huge relief. I'm extremely grateful.

While I await the written offer, I have a few questions. I know Amazon wants employees to see the overall numbers comprehensively, and from what I understand here's how it will work:

YEAR 1: Signing bonus paid upfront, base salary, RSUs (to vest with time)

YEAR 2: Additional signing bonus spread across the year's paychecks; Year 1 salary plus (hopefully) an annual raise; RSUs continuing to vest (?)

YEAR 3: Year 2 salary plus an annual raise (No bonus?); RSUs vest (?)

My questions:

  • After Year 2, doesn't the lack of signing bonus essentially amount to a huge pay cut? I have to be missing something.
  • How do the RSUs work in practice? Do employees receive an annual payout to account for the disappeared signing bonus?
  • Does Amazon also offer year-end or other types of bonuses?
  • How are Amazon's benefits? Wondering how much those might cut into my salary.
  • From my research it seems that Amazon doesn't really negotiate their offers. Is this true?

I want to go in with a clear head in terms of what I should expect, so just trying to educate myself. Thanks in advance!
