I am wanting to get into an office position after working in a medical setting for nearly my entire working career. I’m not sure where to start
Hey all, sorry if the title is confusing. I (24F) have always been steered towards healthcare whether it’s job-wise or school-wise. This isn’t really an issue, I enjoy keeping calm during trauma cases and assisting in the limited ways that I can.
However, even though I love my job, I can’t be a tech forever. It’s just not what I want to do up until I retire and I need a job that can transition into a career for me, something that will keep me stimulated and afloat money wise.
I’m a few credits away from having a bachelors in gen. studies (I should have picked a degree and stuck with it I know but I seriously have no idea what I wanted/want to do.)
I think I would enjoy getting into admin work for a medical office where I can be versatile, mainly doing administrative duties but I could also jump in to help process patients or draw lab work.
Anyone have an idea of how far I can go/move up in a field like that? Or how to transition from a medical setting to an office setting?
