I was laid off a month ago - I got this job in January and during that time it took about 30 job applications and a month to get 5 offers, 3 of which were willing to give me whatever I wanted to work for them.
I've been applying to over 300 relevant jobs in my field over the past month. Not a call except for some sketchy recruiter that wanted n electrical engineer with 10 years experience for a temp job at $12 an hour.
As mentioned, I'm a electrical engineer that never had trouble finding a job. I'm starting to Become scared.
Could you give me your experiences? Nothing has changed from my approach from last time other than the higher unemployment. Same resume, same approach.
I'm based in New York City. Unemployment is great, but it costs so much to live here, the benefits won't do much for me like they would elsewhere. Any advice would be helpful.
