Hey guys. So a little background: I'm a 23-year-old guy. I've had a lot of different job experiences and self-employment experiences. I've bought, fixed, and sold cars in high school. I had a short-lived antique store that I started. I've had a few years in construction jobs. I worked as a ranch hand on a farm in Iowa.
And currently, I'm working as an installation technician for a company that works nationwide. This has me traveling to different states every couple of weeks. Don't get me wrong; The pay is good, traveling is cool, I've picked up the skill rather quickly, and have started leading some jobs in the 5 months I've worked for this company.
However, there's just a lot of things that are important to me that are difficult to do with a traveling lifestyle. The main example would be that I want to learn jiu Jitsu. So now, I'm looking to move to this new town that has an awesome Jiu-Jitsu gym and I want to get a stationary job there to support myself. I've never applied for any jobs, I've always just been given the opportunity through recommendations. This leaves me lacking on how to go about finding a good job in this town.
What should I do and how can I transition from my current job into a new one?
What are some resources that may be useful for this?
Any advice is greatly appreciated.
