My redacted Resume: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1FXfH6tmAh95AczBpx9truKS5-eqJOeDF/view?usp=sharing
So I have basically 3 years of net I.T. experience but its all through various medium to long term temporary positions OR seasonal positions but the seasonal jobs were as a Director for a regional tax firm (I managed 150 PCs alone but no employees) and I'm having no luck getting a job. I'm not even making 2nd round interviews for entry level positions despite being supremely qualified (IMO I'm qualified to be I.T. management at any small business) and I have no idea why. I've always heard that in I.T. experience is worth much much more than education or certs but I feel like the nature of my experience being mostly through temp work makes me look unreliable (only 1 job have I left on negative terms, and that was due to an wrongful social justice firing over a social media post).
My objective because I'm quite frankly not a good interviewer (I'm extremely obese @ 20, so I'm always fighting perceptional issues that I'm somehow lazier or less suited than a fitter man) is to sell my skills as being so absolutely superlative that they want to offer me a job before I even leave that interview, because they absolutely KNOW they can't afford to risk me not walking back through that door again.
The problem is I keep getting hit with questions lately that either aren't related to my I.T. Skills. Like I don't believe social skills are important for I.T. beyond a minimal level. I can act civil and business like quite easily but quite honestly I'm probably not a good fit for any corporate culture. I don't really discuss politics, my personal life, or anything non-work related at work because I believe it detracts from my ability to perform my job in a flawless fashion.
So should I go for A+ certification? I've heard that Security+ is a better choice and not much harder but the problem is I have zero real world active directory experience and I think thats kind of a deal breaker for Security+ certification. Active Directory is one of those things I always assumed I would pick up as a skillset on the job.
All I know is I need a job in the I.T. sector. It's the only thing I can really do as I can't stand on my feet for more than an hour or two at a time anymore due to my declining health. I have literally zero other job related skills. Computers and technology is my life. I don't know how to function in any other enviroment because I'm sort of a life long outcast due to society prefering to hide "unsightly" people like me away. I would be employed by now if I were a fit 175lb man vs a 400lb man but thats outside of my control now.
I have no plans to go to college. I live in a rural area and I can't justify 200k in debt for a 4 year degree to make MAYBE 45k a year.
