Just like a lot of people, I am currently unemployed. I quit my previous job back in mid-January and was in the middle of job hunting when the pandemic hit. As expected, it has made job searching more challenging than it already was.
Having said all that, around the end of April, I found a listing for a job that was right up my alley. The skills and experience that they were looking for were things that I had on my resumé. It was also the kind of job that I had been looking for, so I immediately applied. (They also said that they were “desperately looking” for someone to fill the position, and I thought, “cool! I’m desperately looking for a job!” 😅) I scored an interview right away and things went well. However, about a week later, I received an email saying that they had decided to move forward with somebody else’s application. Not really good news, but hey...that’s job hunting for ya. 🤷🏻♀️
Fast forward to about a month and a half later...the company reposts the listing for the position. It was pretty much exactly the same except for a few edits to make the listing clearer and more concise. Initially, I ignored the listing and decided to keep looking elsewhere because, well...they had already said no to me. However...I am still unemployed. I am actively looking, but I still haven’t found any glimmers of hope. They have since deleted and reposted the listing a couple more times and so far, they still haven’t filled the position. So, that’s why I’ve been thinking of reapplying. Again, I’m actively applying, so it’s not like I’ve stopped because of this one thing. I am still looking for jobs. But yeah...should I try again, or should I not?
