My director told me today that I got promoted. He told me the new salary I’d be making. I asked him if it was negotiable and he told me promotions are nonnegotiable.
I want to get your opinions on what I should do? My boss understood being promoted was a goal of mine and so I had a number in my head on what I would negotiate as my salary when the time eventually came. The new salary is a 13% increase, however the salary I had in mind was roughly a 20-22% increase. I am truly grateful for the salary increase, however I just don’t want to have this feeling of regret of not trying to negotiate again. Should I bring it up again? I don’t want to piss anyone off. What would you do in my situation? Just let it go since he said nonnegotiable or fight for it?
