How to find work after being a SAHM for 10 years?!?

Last year, this mom of 3 became a single mom of 3 and have yet to find solid employment with benefits. I have applied everywhere. I ended up waitressing, because I had to do something. Although I make okay money, I really need something with benefits. At the very least I need to make enough to purchase my own healthcare plan. So, yeah..... how does one pull themselves up by their boot straps and make it when it seems 10 years as a stay at home mom is 10 years too much to most employers?

Side note: I have dipped my toes in working as a freelance writer and indie author. Although I do earn royalties and have since 2018 it is not enough as a sole source of income.
