For reference, I am 23, just graduated with a BA in Communications and have about a year and a half of marketing and sales experience from a previous position that I was laid off from due to COVID-19.
With all of this in mind, my previous boss is now working for a marketing agency and has recommended me for a full time position at the company. I went in for an interview and was called back after and offered 28,500 annually when during the interview I had stated I was looking for 35k-40k. I was a little upset to say the least and took the weekend to let them sweat. I emailed back Monday morning saying I could not accept the position at that salary. The CFO then responded asking to speak and we had a long conversation that ultimately ended up with him offering 30k with a 2k performance bonus every quarter equalling 38k annually.
Is this a suitable outcome? I was told there would be a review at 6 months in which I could make 40k or even more (I'm sure this is just a tactic, but it could also be the truth). I don't really have any other leads and I feel like having a job right now is better than not. Thanks in advance for your advice!
