I had my second day today. It’s my first job and it’s at a hardware store. Yesterday my feet were starting to hurt at around 3 and I get off at 5:30. However today at 1 my feet were killing me, only a few hours after I had started. My feet hurt so badly I could barely work. They also did not teach me how to lift with my legs and have me lifting loads of things. Even though I have been trying to lift with my legs I also feel like I have pulled something in my back.
When I was getting hired at an interview the owner said that if the physical labour gets to be too much outside in the yard I can do more stuff inside. The problem is that 1. I just started and 2. I am still in immense pain inside from being on my feet and walking so much. I have good shoes but my feet still hurt so bad and I’m literally limping because my feet hurt so much.
Is this just something I should get over or will get over with more work or should I email my boss and ask for a change in work. If I do that what should I ask for? Less hours? Different work? More breaks?
