I have been working for a company for about three years now, I absolutely love my job since I get to go out and do installs all the time, but being the newest employee means I'm the last to be rehired since covid 19 has happened. We're a small team of 6 (3 are owners) and everyone else had been rehired about a month ago.
Ever since starting to work here (and the thoughts of the other employees that they've told me, there has been a strange sense of "loyalty" but it feels like a one way street), where we are required to satisfy the owners but they are not required to do the same.
Basically I can't word this properly without it being a mess, but would I be a "bad" employee to apply for other similar jobs in my field if I don't get rehired before CERB runs out? I wouldn't be able to survive off of EI alone.
My plan is to ask/tell them (with about one month of CERB left at the start of August) that I need to know if they will rehire me and that I will be applying to other jobs otherwise.
If this isn't clear, I will try my best to provide more details. Thanks!
