As the title says I have decided to pick up a second job for a little extra cash to throw into my savings. At my current job I work 5 days a week from 2pm-9pm (Sunday 7am-2pm).
My first question is how do I go about telling my potential employer about my first job? I'm a little nervous and feel like this will cost me a few interviews because my 2PM-9pm schedule is pretty set; there are only 2 people in the department including myself so when my manager goes home I take the department. Any job I apply for will have to be mornings only for the most part (I could work in the afternoons on my days off I suppose, but would rather not). I've never worked 2 jobs at once and know employers want full availability.
My second question is about sustainability. My ideal set-up right now would be to work the 2nd job in the morning (full time or part time doesnt matter as long as I'm out before 2pm) then go to my 1st job. On my days off from my 1st job if I had to work the 2nd it would be in the morning and Id be able to rest after. I dont know how long I plan to do it maybe 6 months to a year or more depending on how I feel. Is this doable?
Bonus question: How is interviewing during COVID for anyone who has done it?
