Contract or Fulltime job?

To make long story short, I've been recommended to work for a contract job as an assistant, but I'm unsure whether it is worth it or not. Atm, I am working fulltime in a job that I absolutely do not like. With COVID still being around, it is much harder to find a job while every company is on halt until the virus has died down. I am not sure how long the contract is, but I do not like to be left unemployed once contract is over. What should I do?
