Applying for a job before you move.

I must preface that, no I am not moving right now, and that I fully understand that many places are closed etc. This is just a general question with the expectation that things will eventually be better, and the knowledge that I will likely have to move later this year.

I would love some advice on how best to tackle the task of applying for a job before you live in the place you are moving to. I have what I would consider to be a good amount of experience with some of the biggest brands in the industry, and as it is only the hospitality sector, there is a large amount of variety in the location I wish to move to. However, as it is much larger than where I have previously lived, I haven’t dealt with the competitiveness that I’ll likely experience in a big city, and not being immediately available to work already puts me at an advantage.

Is there anything you would recommend saying that could maybe take the emphasis off the fact that I am not an immediate local, or to help best explain the situation in a more positive way. Are there other things I could add to my CV in order to give me a boost ahead of other applicants? I’d love any other advice from someone who has done this before in general too! I am willing to give more details towards my industry and my experience in the comments and in some cases through DMs if needed. Please help a clueless Brit.
