I am currently between jobs and looking for productive ways to fill time until the market begins to rebound.
I am earning certifications and have signed up to do remote volunteering. To date, I have signed up with two orgs, but the projects are delayed. I am considering giving my time and talents to other organizations.
However, I am curious to what a good amount of volunteering VS. online education will make my resume stronger and set me apart in the coming months Both the volunteer work and certifications align with my industry and will be on my resume. Is too much volunteering selling myself short, or does it make me appear altruistic?
Job hunting is only going to become increasingly competitive, so I want to have a means of show asking my commitment and compassion for those in need. My career path isn't nonprofits, but people are asked to complete pro bono work and take part in corporate volunteering.
