What do I need to get an entry level office job? I'm looking to eventually get in the government (Canada) and I need admin experience...

I'm currently working as a personal support worker and have a background in bartending... I dont qualify for most admin assistant jobs I see posted.. they all require 1 year experience. Question is how do I break into this industry?? I have a degree in Sociology from 3 years ago and am looking for a way to make something of it..
