Is wearing a gaming headset+microphone appropriate for online interviews?

Not coming from any personal experience, but the thought occurred to me since at this time, people may be undergoing online video interviews via Zoom, Skype, etc.

Would wearing an over-the-ear headset+microphone that is used for gaming be appropriate for these sorts of interviews if you want better quality audio?
