I recently made it to the third round of interviews for a position and I’m really hoping to get the offer. However, when I logged into ADP today to check something with pay info, I noticed a bit of a discrepancy between what I was told and what my job title is actually listed as.
About a year ago, I was given the “senior” title for my current position by my boss and the Vice President (both have moved on from the company). My salary was increased and so were my job responsibilities (although admittedly not drastically). I updated my resume to reflect the new title as I was obviously proud of the achievement.
I just noticed that it looks like my official title in ADP doesn’t have the “senior” tag on it. We’ve also had a major overhaul of leadership the past two months and I’m worried that this may impact finding a new job. It’s been a complete overhaul. I have anxiety and now I’m starting to wonder if this “senior” title has been somehow lost during all this chaos.
I swear I didn’t notice this discrepancy until now and I don’t want to be flagged as “lying” on my resume. I have a few documents and emails that refer to me as having the senior position but I’m realizing now I don’t have any signed contract of a promotion, etc. What are the chances of something like this getting flagged by a potential employer?
I am confident in my ability to perform the duties of the new position. The position I’m applying for is actually at a lower level, but with a better company. Am I overreacting/overthinking this?
