Workday rejection after accepting and signing offer letter?

Hi everyone,

About a month ago, I've received my offer letter. I signed it and returned it back. The company thanked me and I haven't received any documentation to file out other information (background check, etc).

Earlier this week, I've received a general update from workday saying that they will not move forward my candidacy.

Is this their way of rescinding my offer? I already went ahead and sent an email to the HR contact. Could it possible be a mistake?
