"restrictive covenant" in 6-month contract job

I started as a temp at a great company with exceptional benefits through a recruiting agency. It looks like I will most likely be offered a permanent position by the company within 6 months. However, I did not pay attention to a section in the offer letter that says the following:

"In consideration of the terms of employment and the efforts and

costs incurred by [recruiting agency], you agree you shall not solicit Client or engage in a like or similar

profession or occupation at Client's facility or any other facility at which you are directed

to or actually perform services under this agreement, either directly or indirectly, for a

period of one hundred eighty (180) days following the termination of your employment

under the terms of this agreement, unless specific written authorization has been obtained

from [recruiting agency]."

This doesn't seem reasonable, but I've signed the offer letter and already started work. If I were to be offered a permanent position in the near future and took it, what would be the consequences? thanks you.
