I am relatively new in my career having just graduated in 2018 and just started working at the beginning of 2019. However I had to quit after a little over a year due to family emergency, and now that I got that taken care of, I'm heading back into the job market. I have a 2 year-diploma from college, specializing in controls and automation. I've been looking for automation/controls technician jobs but most of the jobs I have seen so far requires tons of experience or very specific industry knowledge even for entry level positions with really low pay.
Is there anyone here who is currently working in this field that can share their career progression from how they got their foot in the industry and what is a fair pay for an entry level job in this field, to how much can I expect to get once I get to a senior level?
PS: I am located in Toronto so I'm really interested to hear anyone's experience in the area, but I welcome everyone else's experience as well.
Thanks
